Wilkinson Sword sub contracted the Refurbishment
of Military Swords to him in the early eighties. Renowned as masters
of this craft, Crisp and Sons continues to this day as Sword Refurbishment
providers to the MoD and often receive swords that are over 100
years old, with some military swords having been passed down through
three generations.
Crisp and Sons still traditionally etch blades by hand, using wax and acid. This
ancient art utilises British Military Blade patterns and regimental badges dating
back more than 200 years.
The company have recently developed a technique for the recovery of antique blade
etching patterns from heavily rust damaged blades. |
